Based on an original story by Salyer and Co-created by Salyer and John Quigley-- the screenplay is due to be completed around June 21, 2019 time frame. The estimated budget of the film is 5-8 million and is due to begin filming initial scenes in the Fall of 2019.
Kratter’s producing partner is Robert Katz best known for such notable and award winning films as CRASH, SEABISCUIT, THE ILLUSIONIST, and LAW-ABIDING CITIZEN.
MARK KRATTER is serving the Arcadia project as a Screenwriter, Producer and consultant and has numerous credits to his name. In 2004, he founded Emergence Entertainment as an all-purpose entertainment company located in Beverly Hills, California.
As a Producer, Mark has developed and produced numerous feature films, including HEIST, which starred Robert De Niro; SPY DANCE, a $25M thriller based on the best-selling novel by Allan Topol; the PGA ProShow-winning project, THE GROWING SEASON, a $7M coming-of-age drama now casting for an Summer 2019 shoot; DEFENDING THE ENEMY, a $12M historical prestige drama and three other high profile films which have not been announced yet which are fully financed via a new $275M film fund which Mark manages along with his producing partner, Robert Katz--the former head of Dimension Studios, Yari Film Group, and the Film Department.
As a Screenwriter, Mark has optioned and sold a number of screenplays in addition to writing numerous scripts-for-hire. Among these, he completed a political conspiracy thriller for Clark Peterson (who produced MONSTER with Charlize Theron), wrote a thriller for Louis Leterrier (who directed CLASH OF THE TITANS and THE INCREDIBLE HULK), and adapted Jim Starlin and Daina Grazuinas’ novel, “Thinning The Predators.” Radar Pictures (who produced THE LAST SAMURAI with Tom Cruise) has attached themselves to finance and produce his last spec screenplay on a $20M budget. Most recently, Mark developed a high-end historical drama TV series for Matthew George (Producer of WIND RIVER starring Jeremy Renner) the first season of which has Rob Reiner attached to direct.
